Setup Basics: When using GrillGrates in your Ninja, place them at various levels depending on the rack or accessories you are using. It is important to be cautious and ensure that the rails are at least 1.75" below the top of the cooking pot to prevent food from touching the heat shield. When using the reversible rack, set it to the low setting with the handles facing up for the lowest setting.

To achieve higher settings in the cooking pot, you can use the Cook & Crisp Layered Insert on top of the detachable diffuser, the Dehydrating Rack on the 2nd or 3rd shelf, or the Stackable Egg Steamer on multiple settings. Grilling food with the Broil setting allows for even cooking from both the top and bottom of the GrillGrates, making it perfect for steaks, chops, chicken, and more.

Experiment with the air-crisp setting for fish, chicken, and other dishes. You can also flip the GrillGrates over to grill smashburgers, scallops, and stir fry. Season the Grates with canola oil, Duck Fat Spray, or Grate Wipes for the first few uses.

Care & Cleaning Basics: Avoid cleaning GrillGrates or GrateGriddle in the dishwasher, as dishwasher detergent can damage the aluminum. Instead, soak them in mild dish soap like Dawn and use a scrubbie or steel wool to remove debris and grease. With regular use, the GrillGrates or Griddle will develop enhanced non-stick properties and clean easily.
